Barracks Row and Eastern Market Metro Plaza Signs

Charles Bergen Studios teamed with Barracks Row to design these word sculptures that spell out “Barracks Row” and “Eastern Market”.  Intended for the Eastern Market Metro Plaza, the piece will provide a picture-worthy opportunity on the oldest commercial street in Washington, DC.  These sculptures were intended as a place-maker, meeting place, and identifier of one of the oldest neighborhood in the city.  The project is also intended to harness the transformative power of public art and signage into a tangible, interactive symbol of neighborhood identity and place making.
